Iris Christidi [IX]
Illustrator | Comics | Graphic Designer | Tweedleologist
Who's [IX]?
Born in Brussels of Greek parentage, I set up base in Berlin, where I fell in love both with the city and with my one and only with whom we share Tweedlelife and love.
I've always drawn, as long as I can remember, and even though my love for performance, theatre and film got me studying and working as a stage and set designer for more than 12 years, my passion for illustration and comics notwithstanding put me on the path of growing as an illustrator and comic artist.
In the last couple years I have self-published a few comics and zines (under my own "publishing house" Tweedlecomix) and am currently working on more than a couple projects that will be published within the next months and in 2026.
I like to work principally in black and white, using traditional ink but also digital drawing, create high contrasts with deep blacks and a fast and very expressive line work. I usually rework my pages digitally, adding dots and/or mid-tones for shadows. For colour, I mainly do digital.
I particularly enjoy mixing media and playing around with the space-surface of the object [comic], letting the reader discover new narrative levels and ways of interpretation (probably my stage designer's professional distortion) and explore the possibilities the medium can offer.
