ΜΝήΜΗ (Mneme)

Mneme.

This is a story about memory. Or is it? I don’t know. I forgot.

Iris has to dive deep to recover something she lost long ago. But the journey might cost her everything.

Who are we without our memory?

If Odysseus made it to Ithaca, he lost everything in the process: his ships, his friends, his clothes, stripped down to his name. He went through death itself to resurface, and return to his home, to his past. He never forgot who he was.

But the past is like water, you can’t hold it in your hands for very long. It flows like a river, and you can never bathe in it twice. And if it rains, it overflows, floods everything and you can drown in it.
Who said that memory is about the past?

Something lies ahead, dormant. Something that has yet to be awakened. It’s time.

An experi-mental — a bit uncanny, a bit psychedelic, a bit... schizophrenic perhaps — work, following up the previous Lampsi and Nostos, thematically and stylistically, about an artist’s struggle with the creative process and her relationship to her other self.
